Voice Therapy

Voice disorders can result from structural changes in the voice mechanism (nodules) or problems with the inner action of the voice box. Voice disorders may also result from inefficient use of the vocal mechanism. Voice therapy will target improved voice quality, volume and pitch to achieve a clear and vibrant voice that meets your functional needs. Clients with voice disorders may rely on their voice for job performance and should seek help from an experienced professional. An ENT (otolaryngologist) consult is recommended.

Working with Monica will involve a thorough intake and vocal analysis. She begins with initial assessment that involves questions about your voice use and voice habits. She then “measures” your voice with an acoustic analysis to obtain data about your voice acoustically. She also assesses your voice perceptually and analyzes your habitual voice use patterns. Utilizing both objective analysis via instrumentation and perceptual analysis, she develops a voice rehabilitation program based on each client’s personal needs and goals. As a voice specialist, Monica has a wide variety of clinical and performance-based approaches to foster the development of a healthy and good quality voice. She provides exercises, digital materials, real-life practice suggestions and objective feedback to help clients reach their goals.
